Bamboo imported from the mountains of southeast China. The black "beauty" bamboo is usually a thicker walled bamboo which lends itself to a sound of greater richness and depth.

The flip side is this bamboo is more sensitive to cracking and therefore all of my black bamboo flutes will be binded to insure wholeness for years to come.
